Designing a Card for Fall

Today, I’m designing a card for fall, using my favorite fall set from the Holiday catalog. I use warm, earthy tones and an easy, classic layout. Take a look.

Designing a Card for Fall http://stampedimpression.comThe stamp set of choice is For All Things. I love the mixed fonts and the clean shapes. I like it so much that I used it as the focal point of my design. However, I didn’t stop with that set. I added some of my favorite elements from a couple of other sets, namely Gorgeous Grunge and Flower Patch. Here’s how I made it:

Instructions:

1. Cut Very Vanilla card stock 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score at 4-1/4″ to make the card base. Fold along the scored line.
2. Lay the card open on your work surface. Cover the back with scrap paper, so that you don’t stamp any ink on it. Stamp lines in Always Artichoke ink along the diagonal. Stamp twice for each time you apply ink to the stamp.
3. Randomly stamp some flowers on the card front from Flower Patch.
4. Cut Cajun Craze cardstock 3″ x 5″. Attach to the card front.
5. Cut Blackberry Bliss cardstock 2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″. Attach to the card front.
6. Cut Very Vanilla cardstock 2-1/4″ x 4-1/4″. Stamp the images from For All Things in Hello Honey ink, Cajun Craze ink and Always Artichoke ink. Attach to the card front.
7. Add a couple of stamped leaves to the inside of the card and to the envelope flap.

That’s it. You’re done!

The 4-1-1

  • To prevent ink from being stamped on the back of the card, work with the card open, but cover the back with scrap paper.
  • Be sure to stamp images so that some of them go off the page. It makes the card resemble nature!
  • You can add a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center of the “O” in Hello. But this makes it more difficult to send the card by U.S. Postal Service. Remember, a falt card is always best for mailing.

The cooler weather has arrived in the Midwest. It’s time to think about the changing season. That’s why I designed this card for fall. Enjoy!
