Custom Scrapbooks

In addition to my regular Stampin' Up! business, I have a couple of other revenue streams – one of the big advantages of owning my own business. A particularly favorite sales area of mine is the making of custom scrapbooks where the purchaser can add their own photos and memorabilia. I call them Instant Scrapbook Memories. This one is for a mother to give to her daughter. Check out this page.

Hearts and circles and bright pink - just the way she likes it!

Obviously it's part of a 2-page spread. But how fun is this color choice. The girl is 13 years old. The entire scrapbook was designed with her colors and her style. I don't know who will see the most enjoyment from it – the girl once she sees the photos inserted or I who had the honor and pleasure of working on it!

For those of you intimated by scrapbooking, this page is a good example of how simple you can make the task. I used the Brights Collection Designer Series Paper Stack and added some Basic Black and Whisper White card stock. The hearts were made with the Full Heart and Small Heart Punches. (Sorry – some of the hearts were made from a retired punch, but you could easily cut them out yourself or use some of the current Embosselits.)

The white chevron on the left is courtesy of the Big Shot Die-Cutting machine and the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die.

While digital scrapbooking is all the rage, and for very good reason, there is definitely a place for the traditional paper-based scrapbooks.

If you're interested in learning more about scrapbooking, then let me know. I'm designing some classes in that area right now.
