I'm sure there's a real name for this, but I call this cool technique – Embossed Embossing. The card design still needs some work, but I really couldn't wait any longer to share this technique with you.
I started with the Garden Green strip of card stock. I ran it through the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine with the Hearts of the Adorning Accents Embossing Folder.
But it still needed something more. I inked up my brayer with VersaMark ink, then gently brayered the raised hearts of the card stock. You need to be careful because you don't want to flatten the raised hearts. I sprinkled it with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and embossed it with the Heat Tool. Doesn't that make an interesting effect? Here is a closer look.
I love this technique, even though it can be a little fussy. First of all, you need to rub the surface with the Embossing Buddy for the embossing powder to stick only where it's needed. If there is extra powder sticking to the card stock, then take care to remove it before using the Heat Tool. Otherwise, you'll have embossing where you don't want it.
Okay, I must admit it. I'm not happy with this card design. However, I just love the embossed embossing.
So, learn the technique. But wait a few days to see a better card design with it! Truly, this is a cool technique – embossed embossing.
Clever!
I “heart” all the hearts!!!
