Congrats with a High Five

When the annual catalog was introduced last summer, High Five was on my first Stampin’ Up! order. The variation in images, fonts and sentiments make it the perfect “general” stamp set that you can use in a variety of card designs. While I use it often when making my personal cards, I don’t believe I’ve ever used it on my blog, my Facebook page, or in a class. Why is that? I have no idea. So, today I change all that. I show how to say Congrats with a High Five!

Congrats with a High Five - http://stampedimpression.comThis set is what I call “complete”. You can design a project with it and never add a stamp from another set. Of course, you are free to include other stamps. But if you’re trying to take control over your purchases, or if you’re trying to keep it simple, then High Five is the way to go!

This card is SORT OF monochromatic. Well, not really. But I minimized the number of colors that I used. I made it bright with Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise. But, the use of lots of white space and some critical bits of black keep the brightness in check. The bright shades in the card seem more rich than those you might see in a child’s card.

High Five - http://stampedimpression.comOf course, I was sure to add dimension. There are 7 (count ’em!) layers of card stock. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals under the main layered sentiment. I also attached some Candy Dots – 3 at the top left corner and one by the sentiment.

One of my favorite images in this stamp set is the textured bands that I stamped on the left. They are so cool. I applied them, and the Candy Dots, in a sort of ombre way. Hmmm. Don’t you think this is interesting?

Of course, one of the best features of this card is that it can be given to a man or a woman, or even a boy or a girl. Fun, yet practical! I love it.

It’s a great way to say Congrats!
