Celebrate with The New Two!

Today is special. It’s the first day of both the Occasions Catalog AND Sale-A-Bration. Double the pleasure and double the fun! See how to use products from these two catalogs to create 1-of-a-kind cards!

For the New Two - http://stampedimpression.comI started with For the New Two stamp set in the new Occasions catalog. I love the beautiful flowing font and the clever words.

I stamped the flower image and colored then with the new Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers, namely Pink Pirouette and Wild Wasabi (Occasions catalog), as well as and Wisteria Wonder (Sale-A-Bration).

Let’s take a closer look at the coloring. It was really easy to do, while providing a good splash of color.

For the New Two - http://stampedimpression.comThis is a good time to tell you that I could have used my Stampin’ Write Markers to color. But I didn’t. I admit that my main reason is that the Blendabilities are easier to reach than my Markers. Hmmm. if you want to use your products, they must be within easy reach! Lesson for today!

By the way, I colored with the Blendabilities. I didn’t shade with them. The images are too small for shading. Besides, the colors of the Blendabilities are very rich. I like the look!

The overall design is pretty, not prissy. Sometimes, I tire of all the pastel hearts and flowers.

Although, you need a few hearts. So, I took care of that, too!

For the New Two - http://stampedimpression.comI punched two little hearts for the card front using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. This little set is quickly becoming my most-used punches. A heart, a star and a 4-petal flower. Little, but not too tiny to handle. Lots of uses for these shapes!

Then, if you look inside, you can see a larger heart punches from the same paper that’s on the card front. I used the Sweetheart Punch for this one. Can you see it? I left a little peek for you!

I wanted to keep this design flat, so that you can easily mail the card. My Go-To technique for making a design special, but keeping it flat, is to add layers.

That’s exactly what I did. There are two layers on top of the card base, each matted with a thin border of Coastal Cabana.

And speaking of paper, don’t you love the paper I used? It’s called Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper and you can earn it for free during Sale-A-Bration! It has a Bokeh design, without the work!
