I know I haven’t been around lately. In spite of that, I’m always working on cards and card designs. But life has been very busy and it seemed to get in the way. During this time I missed all of my online connections and my communication with you. So, I’m now focusing on my online “stuff”. A newsletter goes out today. And I have a Facebook status update later today on my Facebook page.
It feels good to be back!
Designer Series Paper Promotion
Designer Series Paper is always a good investment in your paper crafting. Here’s why:
- It’s fast – because it reduces the amount of stamping you must do.
- It’s easy – because you can use the colors on it for your card design.
- It’s beautiful – because the Stampin’ Up! artists are so talented!
And, until July 31, it’s ON SALE!! That’s right. Until July 31, 2018, the select papers are on sale. When you buy 3, then you can pick a 4th one for free!
Here are the papers that are included in the month-long promotion:
Card Made with Designer Series Paper
The easiest way to use Designer Series Paper, is to make it a full layer on your card front. However, in this design, I took a slightly different approach.
I used the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper, on two panels, but stamped on 2 others. What do you think?
The 4-1-1
Don’t limit yourself to the colors of the Designer Series Paper – I used Soft Suede and Whisper White, which are used on the paper, on my card design. But I didn’t stop there. I added Crumb Cake, which blends nicely with the paper’s colors. I also used Early Espresso for contrast.
Feel free to mix shapes – My focal shapes on the card are matted with Early Espresso. However, I added a stitched circle between them. It removes some of the harshness of the other 2 pieces. And yet, it provides an easy bridge between them.
Always add a surprise – Did you notice the rhinestone in the lower left corner? (Actually, it’s more noticeable in real life.) I colored it with my Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blend!

Another Benefit of Using Designer Series Paper
I’m a pretty conservative card designer. I like monochromatic designs. I keep it simple.
But using Designer Series Paper allows me to mix patterns and colors in ways I often don’t have the nerve to do on my own. There is no way I would normally mix 3 patterns on one 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card. Yet, with the Designer Series Paper, I find I can do it easily!
So, think about taking advantage of this Stampin’ Up! promotion – Buy 3 and pick the 4th for FREE – and let loose with paper designs. I think you’ll find it to be a lot of fun!!
