Another Heat Embossing Technique! Who ever expected it? I love to heat emboss, as it provides so many creative embellishments to my projects. Here is a technique I've never tried before. Click on it to see a larger image.
This is a variation of Resist Embossing. But there is ink both over AND under the heat embossed images. Cool!
I used the Array of Sunshine and Petite Pairs stamp sets, both from the Idea Book & Catalog. (Remember, today is the last day to shop from the Holiday Mini.) I used several shades of blue and green, clearly my most favorite colors.
Take a look at the inside of the card. I finished the sentiment (thanks to Petite Pairs) and added a stamped flower that matches the card front.
But. best of all, this card is really one-of-a-kind and it's FLAT for easier mailing. Fun, pretty and practical. How mature of me!
Interested in knowing exactly how I made this card? Well, I can't give any more details here. This project – actually, one very similar to it – is part of my first online class – a new service that I'll launch later this month. I just couldn't wait to show you this project here.
I know, I'm really lousy at secrets. Trust me, December was very hard for me.
But it's a new year. Isn't it the right time for resolutions? Okay, then. I'll try to be a better secret-keeper!
I hope you enjoyed this Heat Embossing Technique. Why don't you let me know in a comment below? Or, if you really like it, why don't you "+1" this post?
Until next time,
Sandi
I like to think of it as “extreme discretion” – or maybe business owner-purchaser privilege!
I was definitely surprised and good job keeping it all under wraps! Didn’t we see each other nearly every day of that week???? Perhaps you should add to your list of credentials, under talents: “extreme sneakiness”!!
Using your Color Coach should be at the TOP of your New Year’s Resolution. Set yourself up for success!
And by the way, there were at least 3 times I nearly let your holiday secret slip out. December is the only time I’ve ever had regular communication with your DH. I thought for sure that you figured it out – ha ha! Glad you were surprised!
Au contraire — you are very GOOD at keeping secrets!! 🙂
And this stamp set sitting in my (messy) craft room right now is the proof! Can’t wait to test drive it on this adorable card. I love these colors together, too. But maybe I should also pull out that Color Coach and see if I can’t get into a new comfort zone. Hey, maybe that should be another of my New Year’s Resolutions!!
