I really like to design monochromatic cards. This one started that way, it needed spots of color!
Primary colors are Sahara Sand and Early Espresso, a combination that I really like. I stamped 3 leaves from the French Foliage stamp set on Very Vanilla card stock. Then I punched a 1-1/4" Circle in a piece of scrap card stock. Using the negative space, I sponged an off-center circle of colored ink over part of each leaf. I punched the stamped images using the 1-1/4" Square Punch, and layered each on a 1-3/8" Square Punch Early Espresso mat.
The top layer of Sahara Sand was run through the Big Shot, using the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Enbossing Folder. It was attached to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionsals. In fact, I used Stampin' Dimensionals under each leaf and the sentiment. Take a closer look here.
And did you notice the square crystal? It's the from of a Square Fire Rhinestone Brad. I removed the brad part of the item, leaving only the bling!

Well the circle was definitely the way to go!! Add a few curves when everything else is right angles. Do they call that serendipity? I call it a great card!
And you would never guess what inspired the circle of sponging … I was trying to apply ink on an acrylic block, but it just wasn’t working for me. I started with a square and eventually ended up at the circle!

How dramatic and graphic — I love it!! Would never have thought of using the partial circle/negative space — so creative! That’s why you’re the designer genius, obviously. Looking forward to seeing this beauty live and in person at class!!
