My craft room is always My Happy Place. But with the Holiday Catalog AND my new Big Shot, it’s as happy as can be. Although autumn officially starts on September 22, it’s still very warm here in the Midwest. So, today I’m showing my Almost Fall Leaves card!
Card Design
My design journey starts in one of a few ways. This time, I wanted to put my new Big Shot through its paces. With the holiday season so close, I needed to be sure that my new Big Shot is in perfect working order.
Spoiler Alert. My new Big Shot IS perfect!
This particular card design uses embossing folders and different types of Thinlits.
The 4-1-1
- The green leaf was made by running cardstock through the Big Shot with the leaf Framelit – the outline. This was my first test of the new Big Shot.
- The yellow leaf was made by running cardstock through the Big Shot with the detailed leaf Thinlit. Note all the tiny holes. I used the Big Shot Die Brush to remove the extra bits of cardstock. This was my second test of the new Big Shot.
- The light green embossed card front was made by running cardstock through the Big Shot in a 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Fold. This is SO NEAT! Not only does it emboss the leaf images, but they differ in depth and height! Talk about introducing interest in your design! And, of course, this was my third test of the new Big Shot.
