I admit it. I have “royal fever” and I followed the arrival of the new royal Prince of Cambridge. In his honor – or should I say honour – I designed this baby card fit for a prince!
The newest member of the royal family is a boy. Therefore, I used shades of blue, specifically Night of Navy and Soft Sky. I added Brushed Gold and some Rhinestone Basic Jewels, because he’s royal. Fitting, don’t you think?
The main stamp set is A Fitting Occasion for the sentiment and the prince’s crown. (If you click on the photo, you’ll see a larger version of it.) However, even though this new arrival is royalty, he’s a boy. So I added a grungy background using stamped images from Clockworks. Who would ever expect these images to work so well together? Not me. It was a very pleasant surprise!
Note that I rarely add rhinestones to a baby card. But, in this case, they are truly fit for a prince!
Hexagons are hot now, especially in card making, so naturally I used them on this card design. Take a closer look.
I randomly added a Stampin’ Dimensional under 2 hexagons. However, under the white hexagon, which is stamped, I added 2 Stampin’ Dimensionals, one on top of the other. That makes it stand out even more!
So, what do you think? Leave a comment and let me know. Maybe this card won’t be suitable for any baby boy, but it’s definitely a baby card fit for a prince!
