I said, it’s National Repeat Day. And how am I celebrating? I hand stamped 2 almost identical birthday cards. After all, who doesn’t want a few extra birthday cards in her stash???
Why am I celebrating National Repeat Day? I’m just happy. Any “holiday” is pretty much a good reason to celebrate. And this fits right in with my day. Yay!!!!
A simple design. A simple design.
I don’t send nearly as many birthday cards as I should. So the idea of National Repeat Day got me thinking. What could I do twice that is both fun and useful? Of course, I thought of making 2 cards!
The trouble is, I really like clean, simple designs. But often I get caught up in a card and then make a more complex design. Much as I think that’s what most of my readers look for, the feedback they send me is that almost all want a simple design that they can easily make on their own.
So, I’m going to focus my energies on working with simpler designs. How do you feel about that?
What makes this card simple?
- Simple lines. The only lines on this card are the straight, parallel lines of the layered cardstock & paper. The balloons also have simple shapes. There isn’t a lot of “stuff” to distract your eyes away from the main images.
- Very little stamping. Personally, I’d rather stamp than perform any other task to make a card. However, I know that many people struggle trying to stamp “perfectly”. This card requires only 1 stamp. And if it’s a little lopsided, it doesn’t matter!
- Quick to assemble. Once I came up with the idea for the card design, it took me less than 10 minutes to put it together. That included choosing multiple color elements.

One more important point…
This year National Repeat Day falls on National Chocolate Macaron Day.
Don’t choose one over the other. Celebrate both!!
Happy National Repeat Day.
Happy National Repeat Day.
Happy National Chocolate Macaron Day!!
And Happy Stamping!
