We can see the fun NEW In Colors in the fun NEW Annual Catalog! It’s one of the first things I look for when I see the new catalog.
So, here they are. The 2025-2027 In Colors! From Top to Bottom, they are Strawberry Slush, Secret Sea, Darling Duckling, Cloud Cover, Timid Tiger. Love that alliteration!
These cards were so fun to make. But let me tell you how they came about.
Why I made this set of cards
As so often happens in my family, one person (who shall remain nameless and) is perfectly capable of making her own cards, said to me, “Do you have any thank you cards? I need 4.” I had a stash, but I also wanted to make a blog post about the new In Colors. So, I killed 2 birds with 1 stone. Not that I would ever hurt or kill a bird…
4 cards were needed. There are 5 In Colors. I felt the extra card was worthwhile!!!
The basic card desgn
I needed a single, simple design to turn these out quickly.
Each card base is Basic Beige. Basic Beige goes with everything!
The next layer is Basic White. Basic White also goes with everything.
The next layer is made from an In Color cardstock. I then stamped the Painted Stripes background in the same In Color on it.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment on a Basic White scrap with Memento black ink. Then I mounted in on Basic Black cardstock.
A piece of Black & Very Vanilla 3/8″ Large Check Ribbon and I was done.
As they say, Easy Peasy.
What’s with the Cloud Cover card???
Cloud Cover is second-from-the-bottom. Unlike the others, the Painted Stripes are not the same color as the cardstock. Those stripes are in Secret Sea.
There was an unexpected problem with the Cloud Cover Classic Stampin’ Ink. There was a chemical reaction between the ink and the foam of the stamp pad. For the reason, the ink would change color. That made it unacceptable to Stampin’ Up! They removed the Classic Ink Pads from the products for sale. Unless the problem can be corrected, we won’t see Cloud Cover ink pads.
However, we have other solutions. You can still purchase the Stampin’ Write Markers, Stampin’ Blends and ink refills. All with Clout Cover ink refill and an uninked Stampin’ Spot you can make your own ink pad!
