It’s no secret that this stamp set is one of my favorites. Really. So, it should not surprise you that I designed a card with it again – definitely Secret Garden Revisited.
I started with the Secret Garden stamp set and added a sentiment from Petite Pairs. Good beginning. Strong and true! Yet a typical combination for me. (Did I even mention that I can be a creature of habit?!)
Then, I moved outside the box… just a little. I took a chance with the color combination. After much experimentation, I finally settled on Blushing Bride as the primary color, not my usual choice.
Each flower was stamped with VersaMark ink, then heat embossed them using Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the Heat Tool. I rarely mix 2 kinds of flowers on one card. I never use three together. This was really a change for me!
Finally, using the Paper-Piercing Tool and the Stampin Pierce Mat, I poked a frame of tiny holes all around the central card stock. Ah. Project complete!
And all of this was made real easy with the Secret Garden Revisited!
I really, really love the Secret Garden set! Any time Stampin’ Up! offers a stamp set with coordinating die cuts, I get very excited! Having the ability to add depth and dimension to a card without all that “fussy cutting” saves a lot of time and gives a much more professional look than my own pitiful scissor work. And since all 3 flowers come from the same set, they look good together — so no need to fear! And I’m giving myself a BIG reminder to use that piercing technique. It adds another layer of interest without adding another layer of cardstock!
