Easy to Make Birthday Card
I often say that patterned paper is a great “tool” for making a card. I love to stamp – it’s the most fun part of making a card! But Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Papers save some stamping time. They also provide all or part of a color palette for your creation. But, when you have all that AND you can earn the paper for FREE, well, isn’t that the best?
In today’s project, I’m using 2 products that are part of Sale-A-Bration. You can earn each one of them for free when you spend $50 on Stampin’ Up! products. This promotion ends on Sunday, so be sure to take a advantage while you can!
The 4-1-1
- Give your eyes a place to rest – The Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper I’m using is very busy. That makes it fun. However, when using a pattern like this, you need large empty spaces. This gives a calm place where your eyes can rest. It also allows different elements of the card design to stand out!
- A splash of color – I love blue. It’s my favorite color. In my original design, the horizontal band across the middle of the card front was a pale blue. I liked it. But it didn’t add the fun and excitement that I wanted for a celebratory birthday card. So, enter Calypso Coral!
- Stamp on the inside of the card – We work so hard to make a special card. Why not carry that to the inside? Some candles and a Happy Birthday… so easy and they really complete the card!
Sale-A-Bration Items
The primary stamp set here is called Approaching Perfection. I love the sentiments in it! I plan to use this one from this card on the card I’m making for my sister!
The images are quite fun, too. This is also where the cancles came from. So fun!
But a word of warning about the balloon. I love to stamp balloons on birthday cards – they way less fattening that cake and ice cream. However, I have never once stamped the skinning balloon from this stamp set on a card without catching the edge of the stamp. Never. So, the balloon was not appropriate for this easy birthday card design.
The Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper is another item you can earn for free during Sale-A-Bration. The only challenge it provides is choosing which sheet of the pack to use. Usually, a pack of DSP – that’s the short form for Designer Series Paper – contains 1, or maybe 2, patterns that I’m not so fond of. But Paper Blooms is all fun designs! I’m going to miss it when Sale-A-Bration is over!
But the fun of earning fee products ends on Sunday, February 28, 2021. So, be sure to head on over to my online store and shop today. Or, if you prefer, send me an email and I’ll place the order for you. Be aware fo the deadline. Don’t miss out!
Then have some fun making an easy birthday card!
