For many of us, the new year convinces us to make some New Year Resolutions. I’m not good at that. But I’ll take the start of 2021 as an opportunity to think about my Creative Journey and where I’d like it to take me this year.
Why I Design & Make Cards
I make cards because I enjoy it! That’s my number 1 reason. It’s why I got into the craft in the first place. I love to work with my hands. For that reason, I embroidered, sewed, knit a little, crocheted, and quilted. You name it. I’ve tried it. But scrapbooking and card making have been my primary focus for 15 years! If you want to learn a little about my story, I posted it here at the beginning of 2020.
But besides being a lot of fun, there are many good outcomes from being crafty. It doesn’t matter what you do. It always comes down to the simple act of crafting.
Main Benefit of Being Creative
Did you know that the main benefit is increasing the crafter’s cognitive skills? Really.
It also reduces anxiety, builds self esteem, and it can help build communities and friendships. So there’s lots of good stuff that comes from making cards.
My sister often told me that I got all the creativity genes in the family. I didn’t it. I simply learned some techniques that help me along the way. And you can, too!
My Creative Journey in 2021
So, how does all this affect my Creative Journey? This year, I plan to explore the benefits of crafting – paper crafting, to be specific. I hope to share with you how this can become a positive force in your life.
While doing this, I also plan to help you complete creative projects. I’ll share good design features; I’ll show you how to finish your cards, making the whole process easier. But, all the time, I’ll be sure to make it all fun!
So please join me on my Creative Journey. It’s going to be AWESOME!!!!!
