2-Step Stamping

My favorite technique is 2-step stamping. That's when the design of 2 rubber stamps coordinate, so that you stamp each in a different color to arrive at the final image. The result looks three-dimensional. Check out the Thank You notes here to see this technique.

The flowers are from Greenhouse Garden, clearly one of my favorite all-time Stampin' Up! stamp sets. I stamped them first in Pale Plum (about to retired color) and Elegant Eggplant. The same colors were chosen for the cardstock. Add a little sponging around the edges of the center cardstock. Doesn't that have a lot of depth?

And can you tell that punches are my favorite tool? Well, maybe Stampin' Dimensionals are, too. So, I used both on these cards. Added a small piece of satin ribbon to the card on the left. Don't these cards look like I spent a lot of time on them? There's a piece of me in the design. These cards demonstrate how to show someone you really appreciate what they do for you!

Tell me what you think about 2-step stamping. Or, if you want to find out more about how to do it, just let me know!

Two-step stamping is a terrific way to get a lot of “wow” on a card! You can choose a really contrasted color combination for big drama or go more monochrome for a subtle look — either way, someone’s going to look at this card and say “How in the world did you DO that???”

And as for punches…don’t get me started! My collection is HUGE! And I still want more!!
