A short while ago, I posted a lbog entry about spending money on over-priced items. It started a lot of discussion "around the water cooler". And it got me to thinking?
Why do you send a hand stamped card?
I do it, because no matter how simple the message, I feel it's much more personal on a hand-stamped card. When I've taken the time to stamp those words and images on the cardstock, you know that I really feel them.
The investment in time is valuable, too. The cards I hand stamp are NOT sent absent-mindedly. If I give you a card that I made, then you know that I selected it for you. Specifically, for you.
Is it cheaper? Well, sort of. If I spend $3 on a card at the store, it's one layer, very simple, and usually has a cartoon crawn on the front. If I make a card that costs $3, it has a ton of embellishments (like ribbons and brads), probably some heat embossing, and absolutely several layers of cardstock.
So, the question is, why do YOU send a hand stamped card. Add a comment to this blog and let me know!
Until next time,
Happy Stamping,
Sandi
I love sending handmade cards because it’s like putting a little hug inside each envelope. There are so many people who are so far away from me that I can’t get my arms around when I want to or when they need me to. I want them to know that I’m thinking of them and that they are important to me, whether it’s a birthday or anniversary or get well or just “thinking of you”. Everyone deserves to receive something special in the mail. Something other than bills and junk mail!!
