I don't make a lot of baby cards. My friends' children are just starting to get married. I know that the babies will follow soon. But I make lots of invitations to baby showers. While I love to see the pale blues, pinks, greens and yellows, I know that many people are tired of them. So, here is a non-traditionally colored card.
The colors I chose are Sahara Sand, Perfect Plum and Blushing Bride (which, I admit, is sort of pale pink). I used the Animal Stories stamp set, which is 30% off this month, as part of the National Scrapbooking Month promotion.
The bow is from Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon, with a Clear Rhinestone Brad in the center.
Here is a close-up of the bow. Note that I attached the whole center item to the card base, using Stampin' Dimensionals. I also used them under the white card stock on which I stamped the elephant.
As with many of my cards, the design "evolved". I started with something very simple, then started to added layers under the elephant. I definitely like the layers.
What kind of baby cards do you like to make? Leave me a comment and let me know.
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!
Sandi
Wow, you like the stripes! I didn’t expect that – lol!
Awwww, how sweet!! Aren’t baby elephants just the cutest?? I like the off-center lay out, and (get this) I like the stripes too!!! Wow!
