On the weekend, I decided to work on some cards that are nothing like my typical work. Hmmm. How to do that? Well, the easiest place to start is with color!
Usually, I prefer blue and green. Maybe some yellow and red. I definitely like black-and-white, and all the shades in between. But I stay away from orange and brown. So, this weekend, I decided to play with brown!
(Remember, just click on the photo to see a larger image.) I used the Strength & Hope stamp set – are you tired of seeing it? I hope not, because I still love to use it! The center square was stamped from Cute by the Inch, a Level 2 Hostess Set.
Card stock colors are Early Espresso, So Saffron and Very Vanilla, but I stamped with Chocolate Chip ink. I mounted the center square using the Postage Stamp Punch and the 1-3/8" Square Punch. Can you see the yellow Fire Rhinestone Brad in the center? The sentiment was punched with the Large Designer Label Punch and mounted on Early Espresso 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. Of course I sponged and used lots of Stampin' Dimensionals!
I'm quite happy with the result. Maybe I'll have to try stepping outside my comfort zone again soon!
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!
Sandi
Isn’t it great?! And I love that my habit is also doing some good for a great cause.
Pretty! I’m loving this new set — so many beautiful elements…plus supporting breast cancer research, too! Excellent.
