Today, I started with a simple card, then added texture. The result is a very interesting design, with lots of depth.
The only stamping is on the sentiment – Happiest Birthday Wishes – a Hostess Set that you can earn, when you host a party. I punched out the sentiment, using the Decorative Label Punch, sponged the edges, added loops of Whisper White 5/8" Satin Ribbon and Gold Brads. Then I attached the whole thing with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The background was made by attaching circles of card stock to the white card stock with Snail Adhesive, and running the whole thing through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This has to be one of my very favorite techniques!
But look closely at the top green circle.
I left it hanging over the edge of the card stock. It's definitely showing more character!
