It's true – Mica Flakes are addictive!
I hate it admit it, but I'm a hoarder when it comes to my Stampin' Up! products. I don't buy everything that's new in the catalog. I make careful, even frugal, choices. But then I hold onto my new stuff for so long. I don't want to waste it. But, if I don't use it at all, isn't that more wasteful?! So, a few days ago, I pulled out my new jar of Mica Flakes. Boy! Was it fun!!!
I used one of my first – and favorite – stamp sets, Lovely as a Tree. I stamped the large evergreen in the center of the focal area. Then I stamped off a few more trees in the background. Of course, I used my new Dazzling Details to add snow-like glitter to the tree branches. (You can't see it in the photo, but it's awesome in real life!). Colors used on this card are Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke and Brushed Gold. Not the most traditional set of holiday colors, but definitely not "way out there" either.
Here's a close up of the Mica Flakes on the ground.
The thing about the Mica Flakes, is that you need so little for a great effect. The jar contains 0.7 ounces, but it's so fluffy. I'm sure, even though I'm using them on everything now, my jar of Mica Flakes will last long past the holiday season.
So, give it a try. Let me know if you feel the same way that I do – Mica Flakes are definitely addictive!
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!
Sandi
Thanks, Kathryn!
