Oh Hanukkah! Oh Christmas! Let’s Celebrate!

Oh Hanukkah! Oh Christmas! Let's Celebrate! Continuing the theme of easy card designs, and getting ready for the 8 Days of Hanukkah (which begin at sunset on Tuesday, December 20), I have 2 cards to show you today. Both are pretty much the same simple design. The colors and the specific elements are different. Let's begin with Hanukkah.

Navy, Gold and Vanilla give a traditional look to this card!

For this card, I used Shalom Sayings, one of the carry over stamp sets from a previous catalog. (Although it's not pictured in the current Idea Book & Catalog, you can still order it. Just ask me how!) I stamped the image using VersaMark ink, then covered it with Gold Embossing powder. The sentiment was stamped in Not Quite Navy, to match the card stock. Most of my layers are attached using SNAIL Adhesive. But I have Stampin' Dimensionals under some of the layers. Take a closer look here:

From this angle, you can see some of the Stampin' Dimensionals

I used lots and lots of layers of card stock. It reminds me the the chanukiah – casually referred to as a menorah – that my parents used when I was a child! That one had all the candles rising to the center one. Not really the correct design, but it's what I saw growing up! 🙂

The next card is a Christmas card, and it follows the same design!

Notice how the punch matches the ornament's stamped image!

I used the Delightful Decorations, Lovely as a Tree, and the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets. By the way, all of these have been available for more than a year. It's fun to pull things out of your stash!

While I didn't use nearly as many layers of card stock as on the Hanukkah card, some are attached using SNAIL Adhesive, while others use Stampin' Dimensionals. Take a closer look.

See all the layers.

Well, I can sit here all day discussing these cards. But I must return to my card making! If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email message. I promise to get back to you.

How about your holiday cards? Are you still looking for designs for this year, or are you already planning 2012? Oh Hanukkah! Oh Christmas! It's always a good time to Celebrate! Leave me a comment below!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!
Sandi

  1. I think that just as you can’t be too thin or too rich, you can (almost) never have too many layers. Almost!
