Occasions Update – that's when you use something from the new Occasions Mini to breathe new life into products you already have in your "stash". And this update is timely, since today is the first day of the Occasions Mini shopping period~
The products from my "stash" were actually being hoarded … my Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from the Delightful Dozen stamp set. I used a Clear Rhinestone Brad, layers of card stock and sponging.
But the newest element is the Labels Collections Framelits Dies. That's how I put together the perfectly matted sentiment. Isn't that cool? The collection has 6 matched dies. I hadn't planned on buying the Hearts Collection, but I may need to re-think that decision. Sigh.
Colors here are Pumpkin Pie, Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White. I used a little Crushed Concord ink to stamp the shape on the right.
I made this card with an elderly woman in mind, a friend of my Mother-in-Law. I think the design reminds me of the doilies my mother had on all the furniture! I think she'll like it.
In any case, it is a real Occasions Update for me! Why don't you give it a try?
Until next time,
Sandi
Funny about this mini … I like the stamp sets, but they don’t jump out at me. However, I absolutely love the tools and accessories! I’m having a blast with them.
Wow! So many choices. And I always miss so much when I scan the caddies! Thx
It’s from the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper. There are 2 sheets, which are laser-cut doily design – one Pumpkin Pie and the other Melon Mambo. (Backside is white.) You just cut them a part. Check out the Idea Book & Catalog, page 183.
In the Occasions Mini, there’s a large Paper Doily Sizzlets Die, diameter 4-1/4″. That’s another solution.
and how did you do the doily?
Not a crack. Just an opportunity to embellish!!
Great combinations! Old with new! And congrats for stepping out of the hoarder’s closet. Hopefully that will inspire me to do the same! And oh, those framelits!! I feel a crack in my force field!!
