A Pink, Girly Birthday Card

A Pink, Girly Birthday Card – It's common knowledge that women dress for other women (NOT the men in their lives). I also believe that women makes cards primarily for other women. That's why I made this card – it's perfect for a female!

Melon Mambo is such a rich color

Stamp sets used are Mixed Bouquet (from the Occasions Mini) and Perfect Punches (from the Idea Book & Catalog). The lighter colors are very feminine, while the Melon Mambo add a little POP!

I punched two flowers from the Blossom Punch – once on the stamped image and once on Melon Mambo card stock. I then combined the two layers with a 5/8" Silver Neutral Brad 112533. I curled the petals of the stamped flower and then attached the whole flower to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. You can see it better below.

See the layers of the flower.

By the way, I ran the Vellum card stock through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I don't like to use adhesive under vellum, because you can always see it. So, I used a piece that is 6-1/2" long and wrapped it around the center band of the card. I taped it down with regular tape on the back. Clever!

So, that's about it for my secrets in making this card. Yes, it's very pink. But I love A Pink, Girly Birthday Card!

Until next time,
Sandi

  1. I think the Vellum keeps it from being too cute. Vellum, by its very nature, is quite elegant, I find. So, even when used in a fun way, it seems a little dressed up!

  2. Girly without being too cutesy — not easy but you did it!! The embossed vellum is absolutely perfect!! Every time you remind me about that technique, I write a Post-It note to myself so I will remember to use it myself!!

(You are SO right about women dressing for other women! I never realized it til I left an office of 75 to work with my husband. Getting dressed is so much easier!)
