Elizabeth

Elizabeth – Love that name AND I love the stamp. This is one of the A La Carte stamps that Stampin' Up! sells. It is a single stamp, not a set like most of the others. I find the Elizabeth stamp so very pretty.

Contrast the curls of the stamp, with the tailored look of the card.

The colors of this card are Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and some Basic Black for pop. In fact, if you look back at my post from last Wednesday, you'll see that I talked about an article from Home Made Simple. In that piece, the author discusses the use of jewel tones. My colors were taken directly from the article.I really appreciate the help that Home Made Simple is providing!

I stamped Elizabeth in Old Olive, then the sentiment from Perfect Pairs in Basic Black. Keeping both the same color made everything fade into the background. I added the Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, held in a bow with a Basic Glimmer Brad.

You may have noticed the scored the card front with my Simply Scored Scoring Tool – so easy to do!

The last details I'll discuss here are the Ticket Corner Punches. I don't use this punch often, preferring the rounded corners. But I think the inward curves are better suited to this design.

For those of you who believe that I never made a mistake, take a look at the following photo.

What a messy ticket corner. *sigh*

I didn't place close attention, and did NOT correctly insert the card stock into the corner of the punch. So, the curve wasn't centered. I hoped that I could adjust the card stock and correctly punch the corner. No way. You can see the result. So, I had to measure a new piece of Basic Black and CAREFULLY punch the corners. The result is in the top photo.

But don't worry. I didn't waste the card stock. It's big enough to keep in my stash for another day – LOL!

Happy birthday, beautiful Elizabeth!

Until next time,
Sandi

  1. I have this stamp and I so often forget to use it — not anymore! Miss Elizabeth and I will be taking some more turns around the craft room dance floor very soon! Classy lady that she is! My sympathy/empathy about the corner punch run amok. It happens to the best of us — proof! It happened to you!!!
