If Nothing Ever Changed

If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies (according to my card) and no retiring stamp sets!

I layered a Chocolate Chip butterfly under the stamped butterfly, then used 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon for the body.

I made this card with the Flight of the Butterfly and Inspired by Nature stamp sets. I just love these. Do you think that they might retire on June 1? I punched two butterflies – one in Chocolate Chip and the other in Daffodil Delight. I cut apart the chocolate butterfly, and taped the wings to the backs of the yellow ones. I inserted a Stampin' Dimensional between each pair of wings, to make the top ones stand out.

Look at the butterfly closely. I used 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon for the body. Then I added Dazzling Details to some of the spots on the wings – just for fun! It's hard to see in the photo above, so I took another close up shot.

Dazzling Details on some of the butterfly's spots!

Don't forget that there are just 4 days to enter my Retiring Stamp Set contest. If you forgot the details, click here for that post.

At this time of year, we sometimes complain about the stamp sets that will retire. I really hate to see some of my favorites leave. But that makes room for new stamp sets, and that always makes me happy! If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies … and no new stamp sets!

  1. Thanks, Kathryn. You’re right – the movement in the sentiment really adds to the design. That’s my favorite part of this stamp set.

  2. Thanks, Deanna. Other than the ribbon body (which was a little fussy), it was very easy to do!

  3. I like this very much!!! And Brooke would too! I love way the sentiment has movement, not to mention that it’s a lovely thought. Let’s hear it for butterflies!! Cute use of ribbon, too.
