Vintage Stamps – that's what I thought of when I looked at this finished card. I was going to use it as one of my projects in my April Monthly Card Class. I may still design something for that class, based on this layout.
The stamp set is Vintage Vogue – one of the stamp sets retiring with the current catalog. I love these flowers, and I'll miss them.
My design has a 4 x 4 grid, where one box contrasts with the others. I really like this design and see it often. However, I should have skipped the pink rhinestones in the Concord Crush flowers. What do you think?
I ran the smaller Whisper White card stock through the Big Shot with the Elegant Lines Textured Impression Embossing Folder. The embossing really shows up well in the photo.
So, now that the list of retiring stamp sets is out, you'll be seeing lots of samples made with them over the next 6 weeks! Which sets will you miss? Leave me a comment below. I'm quite partial to these Vintage Stamps!
Don’t get me started on forgetting. I’d tell you some stories, but I can’t remember them right now …
It’s like a birthday/Christmas/Hanukkah all over again! Or like finding a cute top in your closet that you totally forgot you bought. (That has actually happened to me. I think I know what it means.)
Mine, too. I forgot that I had that embossing folder for a while. Glad that I found it hiding in my stash!
Vintage Vogue is so pretty without being overly feminine. The uneven surface of the stamps definitely gives it an old fashioned look but also is very forgiving if you don’t get the ink on exactly even. The images are easy to cut out and layer, too. I really like the layering on top of the Elegant Lines embossing — that’s one of my favorite folders!
