I have my guesses, but I usually guess wrong. I know what I like. I always hope that my favorites will make it to the new catalog. So, what do you think? Will Happy Watercolor from the Occasions Catalog will be in the next annual catalog? We won’t know that for a while. However, the Occasions catalog ends on June 1. So, if you want this stamp set, then order it quickly. Once they’re gone, that it. They are gone forever.
Every time I use this stamp set, I use it with either a water coloring technique or accessories. But, you know, it works well with all sorts of styles. Here’s a card that’s more earthy. It could even be considered masculine!
I stamped the images, then punched them out using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Love it! Sponging the edges adds more of that earthiness, I know that spring is finally here. My grass is turning green and the trees are budding. But I don’t want to jinx anything too much!
Although a simple design, there are a lot of interesting things going on. Here are a few highlights:
The 411…
- There are many ways to add texture. On this card I used dry embossing, 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon, and Early Espresso Baker’s Twine.
- Sponging helps make a card element stand out from the layers below it. In some circles, sponging is considered to be its own layer!
- Use the right adhesive to keep everything secure. I used SNAIL to join flat card stock to flat card stock. However, I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue under the embossed layer. I attached the burlap ribbon with Sticky Strip. Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals under the tag.
Don’t forget that the List of Retiring Items will be announced tomorrow. There’s still time to enter my Retiring Stamp Sets Contest.
To those readers who celebrate Easter, I wish for you a happy, peaceful holiday. To my other readers, I wish you a happy day!
