A Card with No Stamping Required

Sometimes, you just feel like making a card with no stamping required. Some people use punch art for these cards. I’m not a big fan of punch art, although I admit I’ve been working on a couple of these types of projects. But here is a card I made last week.

A card with no stamping requiredColors are Smokey Slate, Basic Gray, Gumball Green and Island Indigo. What an interesting color combination!

My starting point – and inspiration – was the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Occasions catalog!

I cut three small rectangles from the DSP, then started to mat them. I created lots of layers – four between the paper and the card base. Sometimes, you just can’t have too many layers!

I continued this layering concept to the focal flower. It was created with punches and Edgelits. Kind of a mix-and-match exercise! I love to use my tools in multiple ways. This approach lends itself to cutting a variety of shapes!

One last point about the Gumball Green. Do you realize that it’s one of the 2012-2014 In Colors? That means it’s going to retire with the Annual Catalog at the beginning of June. Once the retiring products are announced, the In Color products are usually among the first to run out.

So, if you like the 2012-2014 In Colors – Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, and Summer Starfruit – then don’t wait for the retiring list to be announced. Place your order today and stock up on all you need 😉

And while your order is on its way, think about a card that requires no stamping!
