A Twist on a Traditional Holiday Card

The thing I love best about designing cards to come up with a new twist on a traditional design or theme. That’s what I achieved on today’s holiday card.

A Twist on a Traditional Holiday CardI love the Seasonally Scattered stamp set from the Holiday catalog. The three sentiment stamps include images – you hardly need to add anything to a card when you design with them!

But that didn’t stop me today!

The Merry stamp has snowflakes. Every card I’ve made with it so far has been in shades of blue, white or silver. Today I used Gold Embossing! Cool!

Cardstock is Cherry Cobbler and Brushed Gold. I ran the top layer through the Big Shot die-cutting machine with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

To make it even more special, I used some Gold 5/8″ Satin Ribbon and Gold Metallic Baker’s Twine on the tag. Makes it even more special, don’t you think?

Ribbon is one of my favorite embellishments. Do you like to use ribbon on your cards? Leave a comment and let me know.

In the meanwhile, enjoy this twist on a traditional holiday card!

    1. Thanks, Karen! Funny about the Seasonally Scattered stamp set. I bought it on impulse, but I believe I’ve used it more than any other purchase from the Holiday catalog. That’s certainly different for me!!
