Easy-to-Make Fall Card

As we approach the holiday season, my crafting time must be used effectively.  Again, today, I’m focusing on an easy-to-make card.

Easy-to-Make Fall Card http://stampedimpression.comOne of my favorite color combinations is Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss. Such rich colors and such a good contrast.  Add a little Always Artichoke and plenty of Whisper White and you have a special fall card!

I started with For All Things, the absolute BEST fall stamp set from the Holiday Catalog. Isn’t that wheat shaft perfect? As a subtle trick to keeping it the center of attention, I stamped a soft Sahara Sand “square” under the stems.

Notice the bow. It’s made with a piece of 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon. Pull it apart so that you’re down to the strands. Tie a bow and attach to the  card front with a Glue Dot.

In order to keep the center stamped image as the focus of the design, the rest of the card intentionally is kept simple. All patterns were introduced using Washi Tape. This is the fastest way to add stripes of color. Tip: When you place Washi Tape on your card, don’t press it down. This allows you to lift – without ruining the card stock – and move the tape to another position. Once you have it where you like it, then press along the length to make it permanent.

One last point, lots of layers add lots of dimension and depth to your card. I used very thin mats of Whisper White to make the center image pop. See how well it works, especially as I repeated the width of the white mats.

So, when you’re looking for a design for an easy-to-make fall card, take a few tips from this one!
