Easy Card Design with Work of Art

I expected it to be more difficult but it’s not. It’s so easy to make cards when you start with an abstract design. Here’s an easy card design with the Work of Art stamp set.

Easy Card Design with Work of Art http://stampedimpression.comI wanted a “general” design that I could use for a variety of occasions. I find that this suits those one-of-a-kind events for which I’m always scrambling. What could be more “general” than circles?

I absolutely love the Work of Art stamp set. I’m not into those artsy designs of sunsets and ballerinas. However, I love the look and feel of the watercolor images.

So, with the Work of Art in mind, I decided to use the Lost Lagoon, Smokey Slate and Crushed Curry.

I used dots and circles exclusively on this card design. Even on the inside! Take a look….

The 4-1-1

  • DSP, specifically Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack, made the background of this card front so quick to do. Just a couple of straight cuts and you’re done!
  • I punched circles to highlight the sentiment. I started by stamping the text on Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch. Then I layered it on a 2″ circle and a 2-1/2″ circle. I was going to attach these by centering all of them. However, that was a little boring.
  • Crushed Curry Candy Dots from the Regals collection added more circles!
  • Finally, I completed the design by stamping a few circles on the inside of the card.

Perfect, cohesive, and totally general in design. This card is just waiting for a special occasion!

  1. Circles, circles, circles! Great design is about repetition, right? And setting images just a bit off-kilter so the eye keeps moving and it gives everything just so much wow-factor!!
