I LOVE the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper. First of all, the raised white images that resist ink are gorgeous. Second of all, this paper pack is one that you can earn for free when you make a purchase of $50 during Sale-A-Bration. Third of all, this paper is gorgeous! Okay, I’m repeating myself. But it’s so pretty that it deserves repetition!
Until now, I’ve see people applying ink with sponges and daubers and pens – both Stampin’ Write Markers and Blendabilities. The results are beautiful. In fact, it’s almost impossible to make something ugly with this paper. But today I’m showing a card design where the ink is applied to this paper in a different way.
I used rubber stamps!
I used the paper with the overlapping semi-circles. I randomly stamped flowers from Petal Potpourri in a variety of colors. Each time I stamped a flower, I wiped the ink off the resist part of the paper. It makes the card front look a little like ceramic tile, don’t you think?
The sentiment is from Simply Wonderful, another Sale-A-Bration stamp set.
This card has a very busy front. Here are some tips to balance the design.
The 4-1-1
- I varied the width of the layers. Believe it or not, it gives your eyes a place to rest as you scan the card front.
- I kept the same color for the thick mats and the main sentiment. It ties together the different parts of the card.
- Lots of white space surrounding the sentiment make the sentiment stand out.
I’m not usually a fan of orange, but the Tangelo Twist sure works well on this card.
